FAQs
Why should I ensure my ventilation system is serviced annually?

-
Annual servicing ensures healthy air quality whilst mitigating the risk of condensation and mould build up within the home / premises.
-
At every service, the air filters are replaced ensuring that adequate airflow is maintained
-
Servicing caters for longer lifespan of the ventilation system
-
Servicing promotes lower running costs and enhanced energy efficiency.
-
Quieter running is one of the benefits of servicing and maintenance of your ventilation system.
-
We will use genuine parts and follow the manufacturers service intervals and procedures.

How do i know what type of ventilation is in my home / premises?
Our Engineers are happy to discuss any queries you may have by phone or email, or can arrange an onsite call-out to assess.
-
Mechanical extract ventilation (MEV) is usually positioned in attic / above ceiling voids and will entail extract grilles (usually ceiling mounted)within bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms, and a combination of wall vents or window trickle vents for supply / fresh air.

-
Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery(MVHR) is a centrally positioned unit which may be found in attic spaces, utility or plant rooms, it is running continually 24/7 and will entail extract grilles in bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms, but will also entail supply air grilles in the habitable rooms such as living areas and bedrooms. The heat recovery aspect is where the heat from the air being extracted is recovered through an integral heat exchanger and transferred to the incoming air, whilst not allowing the two air streams to mix.

What are the common signs that your ventilation system may need a service?
-
Where a fault light is illuminated or a fault code is showing on the control panel
-
Where there is abnormal build up of condensation or mould growth on windows, in bathrooms, or cold surfaces.
-
Where the air feels stuffy or steam within bathrooms or kitchens is not clearing adequately - this may be a sign that the system is clogged or sensors / fans may be faulty.
-
Signs of considerable build up of dust on extract & supply grilles
-
A noisy system may indicate issues with motors and internal components, or faults within the PCB. - clogged filters cause the motors to work harder, increasing wear and the air volume transferred throughout the home / premises will be reduced.
-
Water leaking from the ventilation system can be a sign of blocked ducts / filters, clogged condensate drains from the unit or wrongly installed apparatus.
